Chapter Twenty Eight: 'TIl Death Do Us Part

While Sebastian was waiting on Emmalina to gather her things, Theodore and Paris bumped into him on the street. "Hello Sebastian and where is the lovely Emmalina tonight?" Theodore asked wiggling his eyebrows.

"She's gathering her things from her parent's apartment." Sebastian answered.

"Oh so I see you are now committed to her. That's one of those steps you know....in a relationship, I read it in a magazine. Good for you." Theodore joked.

Paris scoffed. "I didn't know Playboy had words in them."

"Ooo yeah. It has lots of words. I read them...sometimes." Theodore said as he smiled at her.

Paris laughed and hit him in the shoulder. "You are such a mess."

"Hmmm...but I'm your mess. A sexy beast of a mess but yours none the less."

Sebastian just shook his head at the couple. He was about to chime in but he got a sharp pain in his abdomen and his instincts were on red alert because his mate was in pain. "Emmalina." he breathed and he was off in a blur. Theodore and Paris looked at each other worriedly and followed him.

When Sebastian rushed into her room, he saw her on the floor. "Bastian...I think this is it!" Emmalina said out of breath. He picked her up gently and laid her on the bed. "What are you doing? You need to call 911 or take me to the hospital."

"Emmalina, you can't have the baby in the hospital. It's an immortal child. They will do blood work and tests on it when it's born. Then they will soon find out that it's not normal and we will be exposed."

"Wha...WHAT! No, I need to go to the hospital! I need drugs, Bastian. DO YOU HEAR ME! I need modern, Western medicine...NOW!" She said as she fought through another contraction.

"I'm so sorry." was all he said but he meant for more than just not taking her to the hospital.

Amelia walked in when she heard Emmalina yelling. "What's go....Oh my God! Is it time?" Amelia said with a smile. "Come on, let's go! I'll grab the car and bring it around."

Sebastian explained why they couldn't go and Amelia felt very bad for her daughter. She remembered when she was in labor with Emmalina and she would have gladly taken that Epidural needle in her eye ball if it would have made the pain go away faster. "Who's going to deliver the baby!?"

"I will." Sebastian answered.

"You know how to do that?" Amelia asked.

"I've seen thousands of babies born in my 400 odd years. The process is all the same."

Theodore and Paris finally decided to walk into the room instead of lurking in the hallway. "Who the hell are they?" Amelia asked.

"Friends." Sebastian muttered. Sebastian grabbed Emmalina's desk chair and rolled it over to the bed. He sat down and took her hand. He listened to her heartbeat and the baby's. Everything was fine....for now. "Amelia could you find Emmalina some kind of robe or gown to put on."

Amelia nodded and went searching through Emmalina's dresser. She found a white night gown and held it up. "Well this do?"

"Yes." He took it from her and helped Emmalina change into it.

Within a couple of hours it was time for Emmalina to push. "I can't do this." She sobbed.

"Emmalina, yes you can. It's almost over. All of it, is almost over." Sebastian said with his own tears in his eyes.

"Emmalina, you're doing so great." Amelia cried as she wiped sweat off of Emmalina's forehead.

Emmalina pushed as hard as she could. She felt like her insides were being ripped out. "One more. Just one more is all you have left." Sebastian said. Amelia grabbed the blankets beside the bed so she could wrap the baby up. Emmalina gave one more final push and then everyone heard the first cries of a beautiful baby girl. "Alexis." Sebastian whispered as he held his daughter for the first time. He closed his eyes as tears began to spill over them. She would never know him as her father. He looked straight at Theodore and said, "Call her Lexi." Theodore nodded solemnly.

Sebastian gave Lexi to Amelia to wrap her in the blankets and laid her in Emmalina's arms. "She's....beautiful." Emmalina cried. Emmalina gently rubbed her finger on Lexi's soft cheeks. Emmalina started to feel a little light headed and the room started to spin.

Donovan came home from work late and noticed the door was already unlocked. He slowly opened it, looking around to make sure no one was there to surprise him. He heard Amelia talking to someone in Emmalina's room and rushed towards her. It had been almost two months since he'd seen her. When he walked into the room he was shocked. Amelia stood beside Emmalina who was lying in bed drenched in blood, there were two vampires and some strange woman he'd never met before. He looks at his daughter and noticed how weak she looked. "YOU!" Donovan said as he pointed his finger at Sebastian. "What have you done to her?" Donovan screams. There is so much blood, it's everywhere.

Sebastian has finally lost it. He's in front of Donovan before anyone can react and grabs him by the throat and lifts him up. "I should rip out your spine and beat you with it for what you've done to her! You don't think I know this is MY fault? You don't think a part of me wishes I'd died before she met me so she would be safe and live a long happy life? I don't need you to tell me any of this. So shut the fuck up before I eat you." With his last words he threw Donovan against the wall.

"Sebastian! Something's wrong. I...I can't get the bleeding to stop. She's already lost too much as it is." Amelia said panicking.

"She's dying. There's nothing I can do about it." Sebastian said as he walked back over to Emmalina.

Donovan got off the floor and ran to Emmalina's side. He'd been a fool. He'd never seen so much turmoil and despair as he had in that vampire's. Some how he had to fix what he'd said to his daughter. "Emmalina? Can you hear me?" Donovan asked as he moved her hair out of face. She barely opened her eyes and looked at him. "God, Emmalina, I'm so sorry. You have to know that. I didn't...I'm sorry. I love you so much." He said as he broke down and lost his voice. Emmalina tried to raise her hand to put it on his but it was no use. She couldn't move anymore and then the darkness took her over.

Donovan jumped up and turned to look at Sebastian. "DO SOMETHING!?

"I CAN'T!" Sebastian yelled as he kneeled down beside Emmalina. He grabbed her hands and waited for the inevitable.

"Sebastian..I'm so sorry. If there's..." Theodore started.

"Leave. Just please.....go." Sebastian said quietly with sorrow in his voice. This was it for him. Without her, he couldn't survive. He wished one of the gods would strike him down now so he wouldn't have to hear Emmalina's last heart beat. But he knew he deserved to hear it because it was his fault why it was going to stop in the first place. He'd be glad when he steped in the morning light, to see the sun for the first time in over 400 years. He'd welcome it to escape his torture. He was heartbroken over his daughter too. He wished he would be able to survive long enough to raise her but he would go mad in days without his mate. But at least she'd be safe with Theodore and Paris.

Theodore and Paris left the room and walked out of the apartment. "See this is why I don't have mortal friends." Paris sniffed. "They're just too damn depressing." Both of them knew that was the last time they would see Emmalina or Sebastian alive. Theodore wrapped his arms around Paris as they mourned their friends.

Inside Emmalina's room, Amelia was devastated. "Sebastian you can't just let her die! Someone has to be able to fix this!"

"There is no one."

"Turn her....into one of you." Amelia finally said

"Amelia. You can't be serious?" Donovan said.

"Donovan I would rather have a vampire daughter than no daughter at all!"

Donovan nodded. "Do it." He hated what they were doing to her but Amelia was right. What kind of father would he be if he just let his daughter die because he couldn't put aside his hate? He had to believe that she would be the same. He'd done a lot of soul searching recently and there was one thing he was sure of, his family meant the world to him. If he permanently lost them, he'd fall apart. Vampires might have taken away everything he had at one time in his life, but this one was about to give him back one of the things he loved most in the world, his daughter.

"No."

"NO!? Why not!" Donovan asked.

"Because it's not what she wants. I can't turn her unless she wants to be turned."

"Well I don't fucking care what she wants! At least she be here to yell at us about it." Amelia said.

"I won't take away her humanity without her permission. It's not what she wants. I can't turn someone who doesn't want to be turned. I'll be executed for it. Which means she would go mad or follow. No...I won't put her through that. This is how it has to end. I guess Alesana the Ever Knowing doesn't know everything after all."

When Sebastian mentioned Alesana's name, Amelia remembered what Alesana told her about calling a witch's power. It had to be done when they were unconscious so they wouldn't fight it. She told her that she would know when the time was right and what to do. She now understood why she had told all of this to her that day when she went to her house. Amelia cleared her mind and walked over to Emmalina. She held her hand and started the spell.

Powers of the Witches rise,
Course unseen across the skies.
Come to me, I call you near,
Come to me and settle here.

"Amelia, what are you doing?" Sebastian asked as waves of energy lifted from Emmalina and went into Amelia.

"What I'm supposed to. If you want turn her on your own...then I'll MAKE you do it." Amelia said. She looked at Sebastian and tried to focus. It was hard to do when Emmalina's breathing slowed down to almost nothing. She thought of what she wanted him to do, hoping Emmalina's power worked similar to her own. Turn her.

Sebastian's fangs slid out as his head dipped towards Emmalina's throat. "What did you do?" Donovan asked as Sebastian tried to fight Amelia's influence.

"I borrowed Emmalina's power. Now I can control him to turn her whether he wants to or not." Amelia turned back to Sebastian. NOW.

He couldn't fight it anymore. Especially now with his instincts screaming to do it. He bent down even closer to her neck and sank his fangs in. This time when they connected, the bright light that was once Emmalina was so very dim. He drank what little blood she had left and removed his fangs. Finish it. Amelia gave him another command. "Silver." Was all he said. Donovan ran in his bedroom and grabbed one of the silver knives he had hidden under the mattress. He ran back into Emmalina's room and handed it to Sebastian, half debating whether he should plunge it in the vampire's heart instead. But he knew his daughter would certainly die if the vampire didn't finish turning her. When Sebastian had the knife, ignoring Donovan's thoughts, he sliced a wrist open and held it to her mouth and his blood started to slide down her throat. After a few minutes of recutting his wrist every time it healed, Emmalina wasn't getting enough in her. "Hold her mouth open." He told Donovan.

Donovan walked over to Emmalina and parted her lips. He watched in horror as Sebastian slit his throat open and held his neck above Emmalina's mouth. "Oh shit, I think I'm going to be sick." Donovan said. He had seen a lot of fucked up shit in his day but his daughter drinking vampire blood from a vampire that just slit his own throat open was a little too much.

Sebastian managed to get enough blood in her this time. "Now we wait."

"Thank you." Amelia said.

"I didn't really have a choice. Which means I'm not responsible for this. So I should be thanking you." Sebastian said as he realized Alesana's plan all along.

"I'll take the baby to get her cleaned up and fed." Amelia said and then winced, "I don't have to give her blood do I?"

"No. She needs formula like any other newborn."

"Okay, that's a relief." Before she walked out she stopped and turned to him. "She's beautiful you know. She has your eyes."

"I know. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that she wouldn't be perfect."

Amelia smiled at him and took Lexi into the kitchen with Donovan following her, leaving Sebastian alone with Emmalina. He wouldn't let himself feel any relief or happiness yet, not until she woke up. It would take her a few hours for the transformation to be completed. He was worried how she would react to what he and her Mother did to her. He had considered so many times to tell her she wasn't going to make it unless he turned her. But he would also have to tell her that the baby would die while she was changing. He didn't want to put that on her. Plus, he knew his mate, she would have chosen to give up her life for her daughter. That was just the kind of person she was....pure of heart.

As the hours passed, Sebastian immediately saw it when Emmalina's hand jerked and rushed over by her bedside. Her eyes fluttered open and he was the first face she saw. He helped her to her feet and waited for her to say something.

"Wha..what happened?" She said as she tried to adjust her eyes. Everything was so much more vivid now then she remembered.

"How are you feeling?" He asked instead of answering her question.

"I feel....strange. And I'm hungry...no I'm starving." She replied. She looked down at her blood soaked gown and at the paleness of her skin. "Bastian....you turned me?" She asked in shock.

"You would have died if I hadn't." He answered, leaving Amelia out of it.

"What? No, Alesana said.."

"No. This was the way you were going to survive."

Amelia walked into the room when she heard voices. "Emmalina it's not his fault. I made him do it."

Emmalina's fangs slid out at the sight her mother. "Mom, you smell.....delicious." She said as her eyes glowed a bit brighter and she was almost in a trance.

"Emmalina? Snap out of it." Sebastian said as he grabbed her face to focus her eyes on him.

Emmalina put her hand to her mouth. "Oh my God! Mom I'm so sorry!"

Amelia stopped walking towards then and back up a little. "I need some bagged blood. She needs to feed." Sebastian said as he turned to Amelia.

"Well, sure. I'll just go to my fridge and grab some." Amelia said sarcastically.

"Well then I need to take her home or things could get...messy."

"Where is Lexi?" Emmalina asked as she vaguely remembered seeing her daughter.

"She's in the living room with your father." Amelia answered.

"WHAT!? You left my vampire daughter alone with a vampire hunter?"

"Emmalina, please. She's his granddaughter for Christ's sake! You don't actually believe he would hurt her!" Amelia said.

"I don't know what to believe!" She said as she rushed into the living room.

When Emmalina got to the living room, she was a little surprised at what she saw. "Dad?" Emmalina asked as she eased towards her daughter.

Donovan's eyes widened when he saw his newly turned daughter. "Emmalina.." he said as he let out a breath. She looked like death. Her skin was white as cotton and her eyes glowed a brilliant blue. Then he noticed she looked scared and her eyes keep darting to Lexi. "Emmalina you can't think that I..."

"What am I supposed to think? You think they're....we're monsters remember?" Emmalina said with hurt in her voice.

"I was wrong." Donovan said as he looked down, ashamed to keep eye contact with her. "At least about her." he said as he looked down at the tiny baby in his arms. "I can't take back what I said and I'll regret it for the rest of my life. I'm not asking for your forgiveness because I don't deserve it."

"No, you don't." Emmalina said as tears ran down her cheeks.

"Is this the last time I'll see either of you?" Donovan asked, terrified of what her answer would be.

Emmalina didn't know what to say. She loved him, he was her father. But his words would play in her head every time she looked at him. "I won't keep you from her if you want a relationship with her. I want her to know both you and Mom and have the same thing with her that you both had with me. But you and I...we will never be the same."

"I know and yes, I'd like to be a part of her life."

Donovan walked towards Emmalina and she held out her hands. He gently placed Lexi in her arms. "You'll make a great mom, Emmalina."

She nodded her head and looked down at Lexi. She hoped he was right. She didn't know anything about raising children, neither did Sebastian.

Amelia and Sebastian joined them and they all huddled around the next generation. In that moment, Sebastian finally let himself feel the relief and happiness he'd been holding back. He'd been to hell and back throughout this whole ordeal and some how all of them had made it through. His mate was alive and immortal, his daughter was healthy and he'd fight to the death if anyone thought about taking either of them away from him.

NOTES:

Yay! Alexis "Lexi" Burkhart is finally here. Oh guys....just wait til you see her, she's gorgeous. Emmalina and Sebastian make beautiful children. It's a shame they can only have one....for now at least. I wasn't really satisfied with this chapter. It was supposed to be one of the epic ones but I felt like I fell short. =/ I got distracted several times and I've been writing and rewriting it for 2 days. The spell Amelia said was from the show Charmed. I changed the wording from 'us' to 'me'. Also, there was some more of my Photoshopping skills! Ahaha. Hopefully it looked okay because I couldn't find any bloody clothes. =/ Emmalina is the whitest Sim I've ever seen. She was pale to begin with but holy crap her skin blinds me. O_O

Chapter Twenty Seven: All Hell Breaks Loose

A few months had passed by since her Mother had found out about Emmalina's secret. She would call often and ask how her and the baby were doing. Emmalina thought she was secretly excited about the baby but was too proud to admit it. She and Sebastian had been spending a lot of time with Theodore and Paris as well. She and Paris went shopping but it was impossible to get anything done with her. Paris would go all over the store buying everything in her eyesight. She invited Emmalina to go shopping again today but she declined, too tired to keep up with the Valkyrie. So instead she sat down at the computer to pick out a nursery set. After she picked out a set she liked, Emmalina ended up on a baby names website. She scrolled through the list looking at the names, some of which she wasn't sure how to pronounce.

A few hours later, Sebastian was up and walked over to Emmalina. "What are you doing?" He asked sleepily.

"I was just looking at baby names. I think I've finally decided on them, that's if it's okay with you?"

Sebastian nodded. "What are they?"

"For a boy, I was thinking Michael and for a girl, I like Alexis but we could called her Lexi for short. What do you think?"

"If you like them then I think they're perfect." Sebastian said, making a mental note to make sure he told Theodore what she wanted their child's name to be.

"Good." she said as she smiled at him. "I also picked out some furniture and other things we will need for the baby's nursery. I'll just buy the bedding and colors when we find out if it's a girl or a boy."

Sebastian winced at all the future plans she was making. She didn't know that neither one of them would be a part of them.

Across town, Amelia was doing her own baby shopping. She'd passed by a store with tiny little outfits in the window and couldn't stop herself from going in. As she was heading out the store with a few bags in her hand, her cell phone began ringing. "Hello?" she said as she answered.

"Amelia, it's Alesana. I need you to come by my house as soon as you have some time. I have something I need to teach you."

"Okay, I can come buy now if you want?"

"Perfect. I'll see you soon." and she hung up.

Amelia made her way to Alesana's to find out what all of this was about.

Another month passed by before Amelia called Emmalina to tell her it was time to tell Donovan. She had avoided her Father for months, barely talking to him and wearing baggy clothes when she saw him. She made sure to come home when he was already asleep and leave after he went to work. But today was the day she wouldn't be hiding anything. When Emmalina got there, Amelia asked her to join her on the couch. "Where's Dad?" Emmalina asked, a little relieved that he wasn't there.

"He's still at work but I wanted to talk to you first so we could have a plan. I think we should tell him about us being witches first. Maybe that will keep him distracted a bit when we tell him about....well, everything else."

"Okay, that's fine with me." She said, ready to get his over with.

"Emmalina, I have to warn you, this could be bad. But just remember that he loves you. He might fall apart at first but it will be okay...somehow."

Emmalina sighed. "I hope you're right."

Amelia and Emmalina's heads snapped up to the door when they heard keys jingle on the other side.

When Donovan walked in and saw Emmalina he walked over to give her a hug. "It feels like I haven't seen you in months, Emmalina."

She held him in a tighter embrace then she meant to. "I know. I'm sorry. I've just been busy with work and...things."

When he let her go, he noticed her stomach. He'd been so excited to finally see her that he didn't catch it before. "Wha....how did I not know about this?" He said smiling. He loved kids, always had.

"Donovan, I think you should sit down. There are some things we need to...discuss." Amelia jumped in.

"I want to know about the baby...and how this happened." He said.

"We'll get to that, I promise." Amelia said.

Donovan walked over and sat in one of the living chairs. Emmalina and Amelia looked at each other both not sure how this was going to go. "Alright, what's going on?" Donovan asked.

"Emmalina, Mason and myself are...well, we aren't normal." Amelia started. She wasn't sure how one would confess to being a witch.

"What do you mean you aren't normal?"

"We're not completely human. We're....witches." Amelia said whispering the last word.

"You're what?" Donovan asked half amused and half scared that his wife had taken too many blows to the head during vampire fights.

"Witches." Amelia said again.

Donovan looked at Emmalina and Amelia like they were crazy. "Dad, we aren't joking or nuts. Mom had an ancestor that was an immortal witch. She bound her magic and her children's, which accidentally bound future generations as well. I got another witch to undo the spell, which gave all three of us the powers we were supposed to have." Donovan was now worried that something had happened to his family and was debating whether he should call a doctor to try and help them. Emmalina sighed. "Mom, show him your...gift."

Amelia concentrated on the chair Donovan was sitting in until it started to lift off the ground. She winced when Donovan's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his head. She gently put the chair back down. "HOLY FUCK!" Donovan exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, I should have told you when it happened but I was scared." Amelia said hanging her head.

Donovan didn't say anything for several minutes. "Amelia you shouldn't have hid this from me!" Donovan's thoughts were a jumbled mess. He didn't know what to think about this.

"I know, I'm sorry. We've been trying to control these abilities and...we've just been dealing with a lot. I didn't know if you could handle it."

"You each have different ones?" He asked, still in shock.

"Yes. I have Telekinesis and Levitation." She paused as confusion crossed Donovan's face. "That mean's I can move objects or people with my mind and I can also sort of....hover."

"You can fly?" Donovan asked in disbelief.

"No. I can barely lift off the ground right now. Gravity is..tricky to control. Emmalina's and Mason's are different. Mason can....well he blows stuff up. It's called Molecular Combustion."

"He can't blow up people though right?"

"Yes, he can."

"Oh Jesus." Donovan said, scared that Mason could accidentally blow one of them up.

"Emmalina has two like I do. Astral Projection is one of them. That means she can project her consciousness into an astral form outside her body...or something like that. Her second one is Necromancy. That means she can control the dead."

"Like Zombies?" Donovan asked horrified, imagining corpses walking around eating people.

"No, like spirits." Amelia shivered as she remembered the ghosts that surrounded her caused by her daughter's power. "And.....vampires." Amelia finally said.

"She can control them? So whatever she says that have to do it?" Donovan asked.

"Yes."

Donovan looked at Emmalina. The one thing he hated more than anything in this world and his own daughter could make them do anything she wanted. For a second he considered using her powers to kill more vampires but she would also be putting her life on the line and he just couldn't put his daughter in that kind of danger. "Are you okay?" Emmalina asked, noticing her father had either zone out or his brain just shorted out.

"I'm....I don't know. I just need time to adjust to all of this."

"I understand. We all did too." Amelia said. Though she rather enjoyed her new witch status.

Amelia turned to look at her daughter who was panicking because she knew it was time to reveal their next piece of news. Emmalina sighed, "There is also something I need to tell you. But you probably won't like it." When she said the last part her voice cracked.

"Emmalina, I can tell him if you want." Amelia offered.

"No, I can do it."

"What's going on?" Donovan asked, getting a little worried.

"I'm.....I'm mated to a vampire.....and I love him."

Donovan lost it. "WHAT! How could you!?" He said, he felt like he'd been betrayed by Emmalina. Like she might as well have plunged a knife in his heart.

"Dad, please...let me explain." Emmalina started.

"NO! I don't want to fucking hear it! You will NEVER be seeing him again."

"Yes I am!"

"NO THE FUCK YOU WON'T BE BECAUSE HE WON'T BE AROUND MUCH LONGER AFTER I SILVER HIS HEART!"

"Donovan, no." Amelia said.

"How long have you known about this, Amelia? Why the FUCK haven't you killed him yet?"

"She loves him and he loves her, Donovan. He'd die for her."

"Good because that's what he'll be fucking doing!"

"Daddy, please!" Emmalina pleaded. "You can't kill him. I will NEVER speak to you again if you do."

"THEN SO BE IT!" Donovan caught his breath and that's when Emmalina's stomach caught his attention. "FOR FUCK'S SAKE! PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME THAT HE IS THE FATHER!"

Emmalina didn't know if her voice would work so she didn't say anything. "NO. EMMALINA WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU DONE!?" Donovan couldn't take it anymore. "GET OUT!"

"What?" Emmalina breathed.

"NO! Donovan, that's enough!" Amelia said angrily.

"I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS OR THAT....MONSTER YOU'RE CARRYING. GET THE FUCK OUT NOW!"

Emmalina ran out the front door, sobbing uncontrollably.

"DONOVAN! How could you!?"

"Amelia, how the FUCK did you think I would react? DO YOU KNOW ME AT ALL?"

"OBVIOUSLY I DON'T! She's our daughter for Christ's sake! And YOU just broke her into pieces! How can you hate vampires more than you love your daughter? You were once a great father. I don't know what the hell happened. No real father would crush their little girl like that. I can't stand to even look at you right now." Amelia left and slammed the door after her.

When Emmalina made it to Sebastian's house, he was outside waiting for her. She ran into his arms and starting sobbing again. "Bastian...he....he kicked me out. He hates me!" Sebastian gently picked her up and took her inside. He sat on the couch with her in his arms. "He called our baby a monster." Emmalina said said between sobs.

Fury rolled off of Sebastian. He'd never wanted to rip someone into tiny pieces so much in his entire existence. "Shhhh....Emmalina." He said as he kissed her forehead. "Somehow we'll fix this. Everything will work out. And Emmalina, our child could never be a monster. Not with you as their mother. It's just not possible." He said trying to comfort her. He stroked her face and hair as she continued to cry in his arms and he continued to imagine her father's body in pieces thrown around the room.

Weeks had past and Amelia still hadn't been home. No one would answer his calls, not even Mason. He had pushed his entire family away and now he had nothing left. Oh God, what have I done?

It took a few months before Emmalina gathered enough courage to go back to her parents house to collect her things. She called her mother and she agreed to meet her there while Donovan was at work. It was almost dusk so Sebastian would be waiting a block away to come and load everything up in the car. He wanted to come in with her but she begged him not to. She was still scared her father would come home and one of them would end of killing the other. Amelia waited in the hall while Emmalina walked into her old room. She started to walk over to the dresser, when a sharp pain in her stomach stopped her. Her water broke all over the floor and she sank to her knees as the first wave her contractions hit her.

NOTES:

I hope you guys don't hate Donovan TOO much but I had to make his scene pretty bad. He's had a really painful past because of vampires so of course he would lose it when he finds out his daughter is sleeping with one. But YAY for baby time next chapter. I originally planned to include it with this chapter but I decided to stop at Emmalina going into labor. =] Also, I tried to stretch the timeline out a bit. So Emmalina would be pregnant for at least 8 or 9 months. But it's had to figure out what to do in 3 Sim days and stretch it into 9 months.

Also, as for my challenge. Both Amelia and Donovan have completed their life time wishes and Emmalina is now moved in with Sebastian. In my game they have one child which is what I rolled and they have 1/3 purchased properties for the Property Mogul goal. Sebastian is supposed to be an author but that won't make it into my story but he's working on that and Emmalina is still doing cases for her Private Investigator career.

Thanks for reading!

Chapter Twenty Six: The Vampire and The Valkyrie

"Shit, shit, shit!" Emmalina said in a panic.

More banging ensued. "I know you're in there." Amelia yelled from the front door.

"Bastian stay here. I'll be right back."

"Absolutely not. I'm coming with you." He said.

"Please. I'm begging you. Let me handle this." She pleaded.

"Fine but I'm not promising that I'll keep hidden the entire time."

"EMMALINA!" Amelia shouted again.

Emmalina rushed to the front door and walked out, closing it behind her.

"Mom what the hell are you doing here? How did you find me?"

"It's two in the morning. When you left you weren't feeling well and then you never came home. You wouldn't answer your cell phone and I got worried so I called the station and asked them to trace it for me."

"You had my phone traced?" Emmalina asked in horror.

"I thought you were passed out in an ally or something. When they gave me the address I didn't recognize it so I decided to come check it out. Who's house is this anyways?"

"I was just visiting a friend."

"A friend? At two in the morning? No, I'm not buying that. It's got to be a guy."

"So? What if it is?"

"Why didn't you think you could tell me this? What's so....Oh my God, Emmalina he isn't married is he?"

That was the last straw for Sebastian. Before Emmalina could reply to her questions, he was standing beside her. Amelia sucked in a breath but couldn't release it. She was sure she was having a heart attack.

"Mom, let me explain..."

"Emmalina, no." Amelia whispered as she stared at the two. "Not this. What have you done? He has to be controlling you some how!"

"No he isn't. Everything is fine...I.."

"FINE!? Have you lost your fucking mind? My God Emmalina, how could you be so stupid?"

It took every ounce of willpower Sebastian had not to snap her neck right then and there. He was about to voice the threat anyways when a surge of power engulfed them all.

"THAT IS ENOUGH! I'm sick of hiding this. I'm sick of having to sneak around for yours and Dad's sake. I'm DONE!" She said as she moved towards her mother. Amelia stepped back at her daughter's sudden anger. Power continued to surge around them until four spirits surrounded Amelia. Malicious energy was pouring off of them. Emmalina didn't realize in her anger that she'd called them to attack her mother. Amelia tried to use her own power against the spirits but it was no use. They had no bodies for her to move. "Oh my God. I didn't mean...." She said as the spirits closed in on Amelia. "STOP! Go away!" Emmalina screamed but the spirits weren't listening to her. Amelia just stood there, frozen in fear.

Sebastian realized that this was about to get messy. Amelia would be in pieces in minutes if Emmalina couldn't pull them back. He walked up to her and grabbed her face. "Look at me Emmalina." She kept glancing back at her mother trying to figure out how to help her. "No. Focus on me." Emmalina turned to look in his glowing silver eyes. "Good. Emmalina you have to focus yourself. Let your angry go, they're fueling off of it. Let another emotion through, one that brings you peace." She closed her eyes and thought of him. How much she loved him, how safe she felt with him. How he always knew how to comfort her. She let it build up in her heart until she felt calm. "You can do this." He whispered to her, giving her encouragement. She open her eyes and turned towards the spirits. Leave. She thought with everything she had and this time they obeyed her order.

Emmalina ran to her mother and wrapped her arms around her. "Thank God. I didn't mean to do that. I'm....so sorry. You aren't hurt are you? I couldn't control it, it just happened." She sobbed in her mother's shoulder, horrified at what could have happened if Sebastian wasn't there.

"No. I'm....okay. It's not your fault. Neither of us can control these powers. I know you didn't do it on purpose." Amelia replied, still scared half to death but she still tried to comfort her daughter. These powers were so useful to her but they were making her family crazy. I guess everything comes with a price. "Come on Emmalina, let's go home."

"What? No. I'm not leaving."

Sebastian took that moment to wrap his arms around Emmalina. "Mom, this isn't just a fling with a vampire. I'm his mate."

"I'm assuming you know what that means?" Sebastian said.

"Yes, I know what it means!" Amelia yelled, mad at her daughter, at this vampire. Angry with fate for giving a vampire her daughter.

"Then you know I'm not going anywhere.....ever."

Yeah, We'll see about that. Amelia thought before she could catch herself.

"Is that so?" Sebastian asked with a challenge in his eyes. He'd be dammed before he let a little blonde take the last remaining months he had with Emmalina.

"Is what so?" Emmalina asked.

"You're mother seems to be plotting my murder." Sebastian said with a smile.

"For Christ's sake! Are you insane?" Emmalina asked. "Most mother's do not want to murder their daughter's boyfriends."

"And most daughter's boyfriends aren't monstrous murders!" Amelia said not keeping her eyes off Sebastian.

Emmalina sighed. "Bastian will you go into the house so I can talk to her alone. Because this isn't working."

"Fine. I fear I may do something I'll regret anyways. Plus...I'm getting thirsty." Sebastian said as he looked at Amelia. Shock crossed over Amelia's face and it was the exact reaction he was looking for. He laughed as he went into the house.

Amelia looked at her daughter, "SEE? All wants to do is eat people!"

"He was just teasing you, Mom." I hope so anyways. I really wish he wouldn't have said that.

"Emmalina, I just can't understand this. He's not even human!"

"News flash, Mother. Neither are we! And I know you can't understand it, you never will. But...I have something else I need to tell you."

Emmalina figured it was time to get everything out in the open, including the baby growing inside of her. She put her hands on her stomach and looked up to Amelia. "I'm pregnant."

Several emotions crossed Amelia's face before she said anything. She wasn't sure how she was supposed to feel about this. She wanted grandchildren but...not quite like this. "I...I don't know what to say to that....I...God everything is falling apart."

Amelia dropped to her knees and started to cry. "This...this isn't how it was supposed to be." She said between her sobs.

Emmalina sat on the ground beside her mother and tried to comfort her. "Mom. Come on now, don't cry. Everything is fine. I'm happy about all of this. Why can't you see that? Why can't you be happy for me?"

"I don't know. I've hated vampires for a long time. Hell I was just getting use to my best friend being one."

"If I was dating a human and this baby was his would you be happy for me?"

"Yes, of course. You would have a nice normal family."

"We aren't normal. Plus being normal is vastly overrated. Haven't you heard that? Mom, I wish you would give him a chance. He may not be normal but he's a great man. Plus I'd like my child to know who his or her's grandparents are. Or do you not want anything to do with this baby?"

"I do. I want to put a part of your life and the baby's. But not him."

"We're kind of a package deal. Mom, look at me." Amelia held her head up and wiped the tears from her eyes. "I love him. I always will. Please don't make me choose." Emmalina said with her own tears in her eyes. She felt like she was being ripped apart.

At that moment, Amelia realized what she was doing to her daughter. Mother's may not always agree with what their children do but they will always love and support them. She was doing the exact opposite. Her daughter wasn't hurting because of a vampire, she was hurting because of her.
Amelia sighed before she said, "He makes you happy? I mean like REALLY happy?"

Emmalina's face lite up like a Christmas tree. "Over the moon." She said with a smile.

"Does he treat you good? Does he love you back?" Amelia asked unsure if Vampire's were capable of love.

"I do." Sebastian said from the front door.

"Mom, will you at least come inside and get to know him a little better. Please?"

"Alright, but I'm not promising that I'll be nice about it."

"I'll take what I can get."

They got off the wet grass and joined Sebastian in the house.

They all sat around the living room and Sebastian put his arms around Emmalina. He wasn't exactly making this easy for Amelia but he knew she needed to get use to it so she could eventually accept me. Amelia glanced around the room at all the knives and swords, some still had blood on the blades. God, what is he? Some kind of warrior?

"Actually, yes. When I was human, I was a Knight."

A knight in shining armor? Are you fucking kidding me?

"No I am not fucking kidding you." Sebastian answered, taking her question literally.

"Umm, guys could we maybe verbalize this conversation? Not all of us have super awesome mind powers. Well....not mind reading ones anyways..." Emmalina said.

"Yes. I apologize." Sebastian answered not realizing what he was doing.

"Is Emmalina safe with you?" Amelia blurted out.

"She's probably the safest person in New York City. But as you saw, it's won't all be because of me." Sebastian answered, still half amazed at what she'd done.

"Emmalina how have you been hiding this?"

"Well....there was never a case I was working on for Beau and Bianca. Instead, I've been spending all that time here."

"But he said.....that son of a bitch! He lied to me too." She said as she realized Beau was covering for her daughter.

"He was just trying to help me, Mom. He should get credit for that."

"Bianca knew about this too then?"

"Yeah. I've talked to her about it."

"What the hell!? Has everyone just been lying to me?"

"Only because you couldn't look at this rationally. Am I wrong? Didn't you automatically assume the only way I was getting her to stay was through mind manipulation? Did you assume that I was just using her as my own personal slave?"

"Well, I...."

"Amelia, my hands might not be clean." He interrupted her. "But I love your daughter. There isn't a thing in this world or any other that I wouldn't do for her. I'd die for her in a heartbeat. How many human men would say that and mean it like I do? She's my mate, my destiny. I've waited hundreds of years for her and I won't...I can't live without her again."

"Well....damn." Amelia said. She saw it in the vampire's eyes, the love he had for her daughter and it almost made her heart hurt. She didn't even know if Donovan loved her like that.

"Do you see now, Mom? Can you at least try, for me?"

"Alright. I'll try." But Vampire, if anything happens to her, I will kill you."

"You'll be too late anyways." Sebastian said.

"What?" Emmalina asked, annoyed by these one sided conversations.

"Nothing. Just out own little agreement." Sebastian answered.

"What about Dad?" Emmalina asked.

"Emmalina, I don't think your Dad will ever be okay with this. His hatred for vampires goes back decades. He loves you, he does. You've always been his little girl but I don't even know if that's enough to overcome this."

"So your husband's hate is stronger then the love for his daughter?" Sebastian asked, trying to piece together the logic in that. "What kind of man is that?"

"You don't understand. Donovan's fiance and his best friend were murdered by vampires. He blamed himself for years but then that turned into hate for vampires." She looked at Emmalina as she said, "And I was kidnapped by a vampire when I was pregnant with you."

"What?" Emmalina asked. "You never told me that. What happened?"

"No, I didn't, none of us like to really talk about it. I really thought I was going to die and you would have along with me. A vampire wanted revenge on your father for killing his brother and we were perfect bait."

"No wonder he hates them so much." Emmalina said and then winced at Sebastian. "Sorry."

"No need to apologize. But I must say in defense that those vampires were probably like that when they were human. Humans are capable of great evil as well. I've seen that first hand. We all have good and evil inside of us. It's the one we choose to influence our actions that make us different. Not what we are."

"I know you're right. I do. But he won't see it like that." Amelia said.

"I still want to tell him....eventually." Emmalina said. She was tired of keeping her secret life. "And mother you need to tell him about us too."

Amelia winced, "God, he's probably going to have a mental breakdown. I wouldn't even know where to start."

"The truth sounds like a good place to me." Sebastian said.

"That's easier said than done. But only Emmalina and I need to be there. I'm sorry Sebastian but if you show up, he will fight you to the death."

"Mom's right. It needs to be just us. I don't know if I could forgive you if you killed him."

"Agreed." He said. After tonight when he wanted to snap Amelia's neck, he knew her father would be ten times worse and he might actually act on it.

"When should we tell him?" Emmalina asked.

"Soon-ish." Amelia said, dreading that conversation.

After they agreed to tell Donovan the truth about everything, Amelia left to go home. She still had some things she needed to work out when it came to Emmalina and Sebastian.

___

A few days past since Amelia found out about Sebastian. They spent that time celebrating their some what victory. One day Emmalina woke up as the sun was setting to find Sebastian putting on clothes. "Are you going somewhere?" She asked, sleepily.

"Actually we both are. I got in touch with that friend I mentioned, they are expecting us sometime tonight."

Emmalina and Sebastian arrived at a house shortly before 9pm. When they walked up to the door, she heard music blasting. Sebastian took her hand and walked in without knocking. Through an open archway Emmalina saw a vampire dancing in his underwear and singing at the top of his lungs.

"I'm sexy and I know it." The vampire sang.

What in the...? He's not at all what I expected. I thought he would be like Bastian. But obviously he has embraced the 21st century. And apparently he's sexy and he knows it?

Sebastian cleared his throat and said, "Theodore."

The vampire turned and smiled. Not at all ashamed that he'd been caught dancing around his living room. He walked over to them.

"Emmalina this is Theodore. Theodore this is my mate, Emmalina." He said as he was making the introductions.

"It's nice to meet you." Emmalina said as she raised her hand.

"The pleasure is all mine." He said as he bent down to kiss her hand. Sebastian shot him a dirty look but Theodore laughed it off. "So, you've knocked your mate up within the first year. You need to learn control Sebastian."

"Like you're one to talk." Sebastian countered.

"Hey, It's been decades since I've been mated."

"Speaking of your mate, where is the Unyielding One?" Sebastian asked.

Just then a beautiful brunette walked into the room. "Sebastian. It's been too long." She said as she hugged his neck. "This must be Emmalina?"

"Yes." Sebastian said as he beamed.

The Valkyrie turned to Emmalina. "I'm Paris." She said as she offered her hand to Emmalina and she shook it. Paris turned to her mate to say, "For Freya's sake Teddy, go put on some damn pants!"

"Why?" He asked her as if her request was the most absurd thing he'd ever heard.

"Because not everyone wants to see you in your underwear."

"Oh I see. You don't want Emmalina to see the goods. I got it." He said and walked into a room.

Paris shook her head as he disappeared. "What am I going to do with him? Do you know that he wants everyone in the Lore to call him Theodore the Sex God?"

Sebastian laughed. "Still same old Theodore."

Theodore came out of the bedroom fully clothed. "Alright, let's get this party started."

Both couples made their way into the living and sat down. "How have the two of you been these past few decades?" Sebastian asked, making conversation.

"Good actually. As you know we got off to a rocky start but everything worked out." Paris answered.

"That rocky start was your fault, love." Theodore turned to Emmalina to explain. "When we first met Paris threatened to wear my fangs as earrings."

"Ah yes, the good ole' days." Paris smiled as she remembered when Theodore announced she was her mate. She was disgusted by the idea. Vampires and Valkyries have feuded since as far back as she could remember. Being mated to one was unthinkable but apparently not as impossible as she once thought.

"And now the two of you are expecting a baby. It's funny how things work out." Sebastian said with some amusement. Emmalina felt like she missing something the three of them were sharing but she decided to ask Sebastian about it later.

"As are you." Paris said a little more seriously. She let her guard down so Sebastian could read her thoughts. She's mortal. What do you plan to do about that? Sebastian lightly shrugged his shoulders. At that moment, Emmalina's stomach started to growl. "Come on Emmalina, I'll fix us something to eat. I'm getting a bit hungry myself, which is still a foreign concept but I don't have a choice."

Emmalina joined Paris in the kitchen, leaving the men in the living room. "You don't like eating?" Emmalina asked in confusion.

"It's not that, I just don't eat."

"Ever?" Emmalina asked amazed.

"Normally we feed off of the earth's energy and give it back through lightening with our emotions. For us to become fertile we have to consume food from the earth for at least six weeks before and throughout the pregnancy."

"Wow. I don't know that much about the Lore or anyone in it. Bastian doesn't know much either."

"It's because he was made, not born. We usually keep a tight lid on things and we aren't allowed to share our knowledge. And all the myths you know about, that's what happens when an immortal has fucked up."

"But then why are you telling me all this?"

"You were meant to be a part of our world. It's not fault your ancestor screwed you over."

Emmalina felt a little sad that she missed out on so much because of Emily. But instead of feeling bad about something she couldn't control she decided to ask Paris what she wanted to know about in the first place. "Is my pregnancy going to be normal? I don't have to drink blood or anything right?" Emmalina asked was a disgusted look on her face.

Paris' own face mirrored Emmalina's. "Freya, no. He or she will grow up like a normal child mostly. Your child will have some strength and speed but it will eat normal food, be able to play outside in the sunlight and things a mortal child would do. When he or she reaches their last growth spurt, maybe early twenties to early thirties, they will shift into their immortality and gain their full abilities but also their weaknesses. Before then, they will be mortal and can easily be killed."

"How do you know when you shift into an immortal?"

"Because they would probably have sex with anything that has legs. When the process begins, it heightens all of your senses, nerve endings, everything. You can imagine how that would feel in certain places?"

"Oh...I got it."

"Yeah. It's pretty rough. I took my frustrations out on a Vampire killing spree. Fun times."

"So what do Valkyries do when they aren't killing Vampires?"

"Shopping. All of my sisters and I love shopping."

"You have sisters?"

"Yeah, thousands of them."

"Wh...what?"

"We have three parents. See, when a maiden warrior screams for courage as she dies on a battlefield, Wóden and Freya hear her and strike her with lightening, bringing her to Valhalla. This preserves her courage into the maiden's immortal Valkyrie daughter. We get our lightening, strength and speed from Wóden and our Fey beauty from Freya. We also get our love for shiny objects from her too. If we don't practice and train, we can be easily distracted with jewels. We are very materialistic too. We love new things and we don't like to share them either."

"This is...complicated." Emmalina admitted. There so much she didn't know about the human world yet, much less theirs.

"You'll get use to it." Paris said as she took the waffles out of the oven and they each grabbed a plate.

"Do you want me to turn her?" Theodore asked, continuing their conversation on Sebastian's predicament.

"No. It doesn't matter who does it, the outcome will still be against her will. I can't do that to my mate. I can't force her."

"I swear man, these mates of ours will be the death of us. At least you got a gentle, little witch. I got..."

"Don't start Theodore. If Paris asked you to do back flips for her, you'd do it in a heartbeat."

"Well don't tell her that. I'll be doing flips for a year straight." Theodore said laughing. He paused for second as he asked a more serious question. "So if you don't turn her and she dies, then that's it for you, isn't it?"

"Yes. Wouldn't it be for you?"

"See, like I said....the death of us." Theodore paused to ask another hard question. "What about the baby? If both of you are gone..."

"I don't want to talk about this anymore." Sebastian said. He was hurt and angry that this is what fate had dealt him. His mate would be dead, and his only child orphaned. He tried not to think of the baby at all. All of the could've been's and what if's hurt just too damn much. But he couldn't escape it. Every time he heard the fluttering heartbeat of his son or daughter, it all came rushing back. He felt like he was going mad, locked up in his own personally Hell and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about.

"I'm sorry I asked. It's just...if you need us to watch over him or her....we would."

Sebastian was a little shocked at his offer, especially with his own child coming into the world. "I appreciate that, Theodore. I really do." He knew they would never be him and Emmalina but they would be the next best thing.

"Plus if it's a boy, I promise to teach him all my knowledge and skills with the ladies." Theodore said, lightening the mood.

Back in the kitchen, Emmalina and Paris were finishing up their waffles. "So how do the two of you know Bastian?"

"I think he meet Teddy right after he was turned. Teddy's the one who explained everything to him and showed him how to survive. I met him when they pulled a scheme on me while I was trying to avoid Teddy."

"Why were you avoiding him?"

"Vampires and Valkyries have been feuding since before I can remember and I'm a little over 1.000 years old." Emmalina almost choked on her last bit of waffle at her last statement. Paris continued on, "When I first met Teddy, I fought him but he wouldn't fight me back when he realized I was his mate. He just sucked all the fun out of it so I couldn't kill him. He would follow me around where ever I went. Back then I lived with a few of my sisters and they taunted me constantly. I heard vamp tramp, fang banger and many other colorful words throughout the day. I didn't blame them though, because if it was another one of my sisters I would have joined in on the fun. Sebastian is a more logical person, with strategy and battle plans as his strength. Teddy doesn't always think things through unless it involves taking off his pants, so that's where Sebastian stepped in. Sebastian learned that one of my sisters was missing. I was the one in charge of finding her so Sebastian suggested that Teddy help me with my mission. I reluctantly let him tag along. She was taken by vampires and Teddy helped me rescue her. When we finally freed her from the dungeon, I was so grateful that I ran into his arms and that Emmalina, is the sign of my mate. I couldn't ignore it anymore. So I gave him a chance and hoped the fates knew what the hell they were doing. Okay fine, it didn't hurt that he was hot either. But if it wasn't for Sebastian I think Teddy would still be following me around. But everything worked out and my sisters even seem to like him a little. He makes them laugh."

"He does seem....intriguing."

"Don't tell him that. It's not like his head needs to get any bigger than it already is."

"I love you too, babe." Theodore said from the living room.

Theodore joined them in the kitchen as Emmalina got up to clean up the plates they used. "You know you love me." He told Paris as he slid his arm and pressed it into her lower back.

"Mostly." Paris teased.

"You know another thing you love? That thing I do." Teddy whispered something in Paris' ear that Emmalina couldn't quite make out. Paris' eyes flashed silver and a crack of lightening lite up the almost dawn sky.

"Emmalina, it's time to leave." Sebastian said before Theodore decided to put on a show that he never wanted to see, least of all Emmalina. She went to turn around to tell them goodbye but they wouldn't have noticed her even if she was on fire. She smiled at the couple and joined Sebastian as they left out the door to head home before the sun rose.

NOTES:

Ok, so hopefully Amelia accepting them...a little, was okay. I couldn't turn her into the bad guy. I just couldn't. Also I'm sure Amelia just doesn't want to upset Emmalina again. Lol. YAY for Teddy and Paris joining in on the fun. I just wasn't ready to say goodbye to them yet. So I made them immortal! You can read all about Theodore and Paris in the wonderfully written, drama packed Sabo Legacy found here by Cece. Special thanks to her for letting me include them in my story.

Also, I should also give credit to Kresley Cole who writes the Immortals After Dark series. Some of her ideas and creatures are used in my legacy along with other ideas from books with some of my own twists on them. I've changed some things and added or omitted most of the ideas but the originals were from her. So I would definitely check out those books because they are fabulous! (Plus they have sex scenes! Hihi!) Thanks for reading! Hope you guys enjoyed it!

Chapter Twenty Five: Silence Isn't Always Golden

After spending almost the entire day roaming around the city, Emmalina finally gathered her courage to go home. As soon as she walked into the door her mother was there asking her questions.

"Why did you just walk out? Where did you go? Is everything okay?" Amelia asked with worry in her voice.

"Mom, I'm fine. I just wasn't feeling very well."

"Why couldn't you tell us that?"

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to get out of there. That umm...Demoness was giving me the creeps and I didn't want to be rude." She lied.

"Oh, yeah. That was pretty freaky. Alesana was worried about you too."

"Well, I'm fi....." Not again.

Emmalina took off to the bathroom. Amelia waited until she heard the sink running and briefly knocked on the door and walked in. "Emmalina, are you alright?"

"Yeah. My last client had the Flu when I talked to him. It seems I've caught it as well."

"Then you need to go lay down in bed and I'll make you some Chicken Noodle soup."

"I think I just want to walk and get some fresh air. It's hot in here."

"It's almost dark."

"I'll be fine. The cool breeze will feel good on my skin. Plus I might do some shopping. I think getting out will make me feel better."

"I don't think that's how the Flu works, Emmalina."

"Trust me Mom, I'll be fine. If I start feeling worse, I'll come straight home."

"Alright. Call me if you need me to come get you."

"Thanks, Mom. I love you."

"I love you too."

Emmalina walked out the door and grabbed a cab to Sebastian's house.

On the way to Sebastian's house she was trying to figure out how to tell him about the baby. She wanted so badly to chicken out and go somewhere else but this had to be done. Her jeans already felt a little snug and soon everyone would notice she was pregnant. As the cab dropped her off she took a deep breath and opened the door. He was in the living room so she walked over to him. He grabbed her in an embrace and kissed her. Emmalina wrapped her arms around him, holding on for dear life. She hoped he was the man she thought he was. She hoped he could be the strong shoulder she desperately needed to lean on. She held on tighter when she started shaking from nervousness. Her stomach was doing flips and she was scared she might have to throw up again.

"Emmalina. You are scared to death. What is wrong? Did someone hurt you?" He asked anger already rising to the surface at the thought of anyone touching her. He could smell the fear rolling off of her now.

She took a step back from him but she couldn't bring herself to look him in the eyes. Tears started form in her eyes and she tried to hold them back.

"Emmalina. What is going on? I cannot fix it if you do not tell me. Did something happen with your parents? Do they know you are mated to a vampire? They did not kick you out did they?"

"No. It's not that. It's....I need to sit down." He led her to the couch and sat down with her. Sebastian was trying to be patient with her but he was starting to feel antsy. She starred at the coffee table in front of her. "Bastian, I....I'm pregnant." There! Finally, I said it out loud. She waited a minute to let it sink in and turned to look at him. His face was frozen in....horror. "Bastian? Did you hear me?" Sebastian didn't say a word. Emmalina didn't know what to do. This isn't what she was expecting. She admitted to herself that in the back of her mind, she hoped he would be happy. Apparently he's not the man I thought he was. She thought sadly. She got up and left him still sitting there. As she walked out the door she took one last look at him. I didn't want to do this by myself. She headed down his driveway and burst into tears. She had never felt so alone in her entire life.

Sebastian sat on the couch lost in his turmoil. Her words replaying again and again in his head. Each time he replayed it, a little piece of him died each time.

As Emmalina walked down Main Street trying to figure out what her options were, she noticed a maternity clothes store and decided she might as well go in. She tried on a few outfits and checked herself out in the mirrors outside of the dressing room. Well, this isn't so horrible I guess. She looked down at the matching shoes. Well these probably won't be comfortable but they will work for now. When she looked back up into the mirror, she wasn't alone anymore. Sebastian was standing there and he looked like someone had ripped out his heart and tossed it in a blender. But she tried not to care because she needed to be angry at him. He had just sat there without a word after it took everything she had to tell him she was pregnant and all she had gotten in return was silence.

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she turned around to face him.

"Emmalina, I am sorry. I did not mean..."

"Can you please speak like you're from this century!? We use contractions now! It wouldn't kill you to modernize yourself a bit." She said as she interrupted him. She knew it was stupid but he was starting to irk her. She couldn't say what she really wanted to say to him, not without crying and she didn't want to cry in front him. Not after what happened at his house. She was so angry with him for putting this all on her. She was scared, lonely but she would be dammed before she let him see it.

"You're angry." He said, modernizing his speech. If it would please her, he'd do it without a second thought.

"Of course I'm angry. You wouldn't even talk to me. You just let me walk out the door feeling like I was all alone."

"I couldn't. You have no idea what I'm trying to deal with."

"What YOU'RE trying to deal with? Are you fucking kidding me!? This is just unb..."

"Emmalina I have just sentenced you to death!!" He said raising his voice above her's.

He pulled her closer to him and laid his head on her shoulder. She pulled his head up so he would look her in the face. "Wha....what?" She asked, shocked by what he just said.

"Emmalina, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."

"What are you talking about? Why am I going to die?"

"You are carrying an immortal being. You are mortal, Emmalina. You're body can't handle giving birth to one of us."

"I thought it couldn't be immortal if the parent was human?"

He shook his head. "You are only half human. The child won't have enough mortal blood to keep it from being immortal." Sebastian slumped on the couch in the dressing room. "I can't believe I've found my mate and killed her myself all within one year. I truly am a monster." He said to himself.

She walked over to him and sat in his lap to try and comfort him. "You don't know that I'll die. I'm half witch remember? That has to count for something?"

"Your body is still mortal. It doesn't heal like ours, you aren't as strong or fast and Witches are the weakest of us all. They may be stronger and faster than humans but no where near what most of us are capable of. Their magic helps balance it out but that can't do anything for you now."

"I'm not giving up that easily. I think we should go talk to Alesana." She said trying to give him some hope. She refused to believe that this was it, this was where her life ended. "She'll know what to do."

"In the Lore she is known as Alesana the Ever Knowing. She's never gotten a prediction wrong. I guess it's worth a try." He told her. He wasn't buying it but he pretended for her sake. How could I let this happen? Is this fate's way of punishing me for all the death I have delivered? Well, they will have their way because I am in agony. I would have rather been burned alive for all eternity than to see her in any kind of pain. Gods, I beg of you, somehow, save her.

"Bastian?" Emmalina asked, interrupting his thoughts and silent prayer. "Should we go now?"

"Yes." He helped her grab her old clothes. He paid the cashier and they walked out the store to head to Alesana's.

When they got there she opened the door and let them in. "I know why you are here." She said as they walked into the house. "I'm sorry but it's going to cost you. I don't do this for free you know?"

"What do you want? Sebastian asked.

"$50,000 should do it."

"Holy..." Emmalina started.

"Done."

"Do you vow it to the Lore?"

"I vow it."

"What does that mean?" Emmalina asked, getting a little confused.

"It's an unbreakable vow. You break it, you die." Sebastian answered. "Answer our question." He said turning to Alesana.

"You're child will be immortal but Emmalina will be there to raise it." She said as she shifted her eyes to Sebastian.

Emmalina breathed a sigh of relief. But Sebastian knew this wasn't the whole story. The witch was hiding something.

"Oh God, I think I'm going to be sick again. Where's the bathroom?" Emmalina said with her hand over her mouth.

"It's the 2nd door on your right." Alesana answered.

When Emmalina went into the bathroom and shut the door, Alesana turned back to Sebastian. "After she has the child, you must turn her. It might not be what she wants but if you don't, she will die."

"I cannot turn her against her will. I can't take that from her." Can I?

"Unless you want her to die, then I suggest you do it. She will refuse it but once she loses consciousness, you'll be able to do it then. She will think she can survive on her own but she is sadly mistaken. I'm sorry vampire, I truly am but there is no other way."

"I can't take her humanity away. It's selfish and you know it."

"Fine. Then I guess we will be having a double funeral in about 8 months. Though you will probably be nothing more than ashes. Then your child will have no parents left. Do you know what happens to vampire children in the Lore when there is no one to protect them? The Valkyries use them as target practice, the Lycans use them as chew toys...the Demons..."

"I get it."

"Yeah, vampires really should have thought everything through before they went around killing everyone."

"I didn't do that, some of that was before my time."

"Doesn't matter. You're a vampire. That's just how it is. I personally don't have anything against them. They have left us alone for the most part. Look I know I'm giving you a gilt trip from Hell but I don't really want to see her die either. She has a pure heart. You rarely see that anymore in humans or loreans. You need to follow your instincts, not your emotions. You were brought into our world, not born in it. You barely understand half of it but trust me, it's a cruel, ruthless world we're in. You better get use to it. Each of us will do anything we have to so we and our mates can survive and if that means turning yours without her consent....then so be it. You aren't known as Sebastian the Fierce for nothing. You are a great warrior, now fight for what is yours."

"I just..." Sebastian stopped what he was saying when Emmalina came out of the bathroom.

"Bastian, I'm not feeling so great." Emmalina said as the room started to spin a little.

"Let's get you home so you can rest." Sebastian started to lead Emmalina to the door.

Alesana let her guard down to make sure he would hear her. Remember what I said Vampire. She's dies, you all die. Oh and tell her how you feel. She's not even sure if you love her or not. But we both know you do. She feels like she's alone in this. Let her know what's in that beating heart of yours.

Alesana watched them walk out the door. When she was sure they were gone, she smiled at the full moon high in the sky and stripped off her clothes to run in the woods to find her own mate.

When they got back to his house, Emmalina curled on the bed, trying to fight through her dizzy spell. Sebastian joined her and pulled her into his arms. He thought about what the witch said and decided to follow her advice. "Emmalina, look at me." Sebastian said and Emmalina lifted her head. "You aren't alone in this. Where ever you go, I'll follow. Emmalina, I love you."

"I love you too." She lifted her head a little more and kissed him. I can't believe I didn't realize that sooner. I just wish it would fix everything. "I feel better about this since we left Alesana's. Though, I'm still a little scared and I feel very unprepared. I don't know anyone who has had an immortal child. I just wish I had someone to talk to. I wish I could talk to my Mom about this but that's out of the question."

"Actually, I may know someone. An old friend of mine is mated to a Valkyrie. He called me last week to tell me they were expecting their first child. I must warn you though, they are....quite the pair."

"Do you think I could meet her?"

"Yes. I'll take you over there tomorrow night if you wish."

"Thank you. I'd like that. Oh and Bastian? I'm sorry I fussed at you about your speech. I was just angry and ill."

"You have no need to apologize. You were right, it's time I left my past in the past and learn to adapt more. I just wanted to hold onto something from my human life. But I think it's time to let it go and move on."

Emmalina murmured her approval and laid her head back down on his chest and closed her eyes. Sebastian was having his own personally battle with himself about what to do when the time came. Suddenly they heard banging on the front door. "Emmalina! Are you in there?"

"Oh shit! That's my mother!"

NOTES:

Don't you guys just love cliffhangers? (Thought I'd throw in a little revenge for Redhead. Lol.) Anyways...next chapter Amelia finds out what her daughter has been up to. There will also be two very special guest stars too. Also, I didn't want to do that scene like that but of course when I was trying to get all the poses right, Emmalina picks the perfect time to change into her maternity clothes and I didn't feel like restarting the game without saving. But hopefully everyone likes how it worked out.
